Evans: “I truly feel like I have been here years.”

Wakefield Trinity Ladies RL new recruit, Phoebe Evans, has admitted that she is “pleased to be back” after re-signing from Sheffield.

Following a few years away, the youngster embarks on her second spell in Red, White & Blue, competing for the club at under-16 level.

After starting her Rugby League within the 15-player code, Evans’ first taste of Rugby League came at Wakefield. Following two successful spells with both Wortley and Sandal RUFC, she switched her stance, training with the Super League clubs’ under-16 squad.

After a full season at Wakefield, she had a taste for more, eventually heading to Normanton Knights before moving to Huddersfield Giants.

An unanticipated stop to the season shortly followed and after spending some time with her hometown club, Sheffield Hawks, Evans is excited by the Trinity challenge that awaits.

“I hope my rugby knowledge and skills help the team meet our goals, but also my want to learn new techniques and skills.

“My personal ambitions for this season are to make myself known in Super League, show my talent and increase my rugby experience.

“I also want to prove that I belong in the Trinity squad because everyone is so talented.”

Much to the same tune as the other new faces in the building, Evans has settled in really well at the Be Well Support stadium and is looking forward to the year ahead.

“There have been no issues fitting into the squad, everyone is so lovely and welcoming.”

“I truly feel like I have been here years.”
