Croft Signs Four-Year Deal

We are delighted to announce the signing of highly rated youngster Jack Croft on a four-year deal.

Croft will combine completing his studies next year at Wakefield College with training with Chris Chester’s squad when time allows before moving full time to the first team.

Croft ,17, came through the Scholarship before joining the academy this year and played his community rugby at Keighley Albion.  Croft plays his rugby at centre and is already topping the scales at 99kgs.

Head Coach, Chris Chester said, “Jack came in to train with the first team in his holidays from college after catching the eye with a number of impressive displays in the academy, he has really impressed with his attitude and his ability. He has the potential to go very far in the game and we are delighted to have him tied down for the next four years”.

Chairman Michael Carter added, “I’m delighted to get Jack signed up for four years. He is highly rated by all the coaching staff, and it’s another youngster coming through our system. I’m pretty sure Jack will be challenging the first team sooner rather than later. Once again, all those that have contributed to our Club 1873 scheme can take great delight at seeing another youngster come through.”

Without the Club 1873, Wakefield Trinity would not be able to fund the Club’s Youth and Development Programme which has helped to attract, nurture and retain the likes of jack Croft, James Batchelor, Max Jowitt and Tom Johnstone, alongside improving training, education and facilities at the Club.

Trinity supporters can sign up to the lottery scheme for just £1 a week with all of the money being fed back into the Club’s Youth and Development Programme. Visit the Club shop in the Ridings Centre today.

When you sign up to Club 1873, you will receive a line of seven randomly selected unique numbers that go into the draw each week for the £250 cash prize. There are also three lucky runners up and daily prizes up for grabs.
