Trinity’s Amy Bennett is delighted to be called up to the England Students’ set-up after a positive 2021.
Bennett, who recently signed for the club from Warrington, has settled in well in West Yorkshire and is looking forward to joining up with her country.
“I was extremely happy and overwhelmed [with her inclusion] as I didn’t expect it at all.
“I’ve always wanted to be part of England Students and have been working hard to try and achieve this.”
After putting pen to paper at the start of the 2022 campaign, Bennett is looking forward to getting started in Red, White & Blue, and is hoping that she can carry her club form onto the international stage.
“I feel that positive form at Wakefield will help me make the most of any opportunities I am awarded.
“I think that being dedicated to training, working hard, maintaining a positive attitude and being a team player will all help me.
“I also feel I am learning so much at Wakefield, which I will be able to take with me.”
Amy is no stranger to the international game, however, and after positive spells DiSE pathway, the 18-year-old is looking forward to working in a unique environment and developing her skills even further.
“Before this, I was luckily enough to be on the England DiSE pathway, training alongside new, up-and-coming players.
“I felt that helped improve my skill and ability massively, as you learn so much from each other, and being naturally competitive you want to push yourself even more.
“Likewise, I feel England Students will help me develop even more as a player, for the same reasons, and that’s what I want, to always be improving in everything I do.”
