Another Year of Success for our Summer Touch Programme

Our annual Summer Touch RL programme came to a head recently with a night of exciting finals played down here at the Beaumont Legal Stadium.

Gary RFC were looking to add to their 2 previous years champions medals but with some fresh teams entering this year’s tournament there was plenty competition and exciting ties throughout the 10 week tournament.

PTRL coordinator, Darren Fisher commented, “We’ve seen 130 players participating with 12 teams competing throughout the summer, with lots of familiar faces returning and also new players to the comp which is great to see.

“The first half of the PTRL programme was with 12 teams split over three leagues that then separated after six weeks into two divisions where everything was to play for, accumulating into our finals night. Each team entered a final on the night that every team that competed either socially or competitive all came out winners. Many thanks to all the players for contributing and special thanks to our team captains who have helped again make it a great success”.

Following each final all players were invited into CATS bar for a social get together and traditional after match Pie and a Pint!

We would additionally like to say a huge thanks to our Ambassador club Eastmoor Dragons ARLFC, who were able to host the PTRL comp at short notice on a couple of occasions due to the stadium field been unavailable.

All players have been invited down to the St Helens game on Thursday 7th September where they will have a on field presentation along with the custom parade of honour to the fans.
