A Message from the Chairman, John Minards

A big 2019 welcome from me to the thousands of you who care so much about Wakefield Trinity. 2019 promises to be a really exciting year for our Club – both on and off the field.

In his Christmas message, our Chief Executive, Michael Carter, gave a great overview of the progress and success we enjoyed during 2018. I would only want to add my thanks to all who made that possible: players and coaching Staff; all who help our behind the scenes and in particular our army of supporters and volunteers who give so much to make this the special Community Club that it is.

Looking forward, the strength of the playing and coaching squad is now well documented and we wish them a positive and injury free pre-season and look forward to a cracking opening fixture in London on 3rd February followed by a really big first home game at the Mobile Rocket Stadium, Belle Vue on the 10th against St Helens. I look forward to seeing you then!

Off the field, you will see a number of improvements to the facilities at Belle Vue during the off season which I hope you will enjoy, particularly the refurbished 1873 Suite. Of course I know what we all want news of is a move towards a stadium fit for the great Club we all belong to. I can report continued positive discussions with the many parties we need to work with to achieve our ambitions and I remain confident that we will get there. I know we have had a long wait but rest assured that as soon as we have something definitive to share you, the supporters of Wakefield Trinity, will be the first to know. Believe only official news from the Club by the way!

Two further points. We have two upcoming home pre-season friendlies. Do try to get down this Sunday, 13th, to support the team in our game against Hull FC and in particularly our Club Captain, Danny Kirmond who is enjoying his Testimonial. Danny has been a fantastic servant to our Club over the years and deserves our maximum support.

Finally, we all send congratulations to Michael and Tracy on their big day last weekend and wish them a relaxing few days away from it all. Thanks to you both for all you do for our Club.

Up the Trin

John
